1930s Stinson Gold Wing float plane
After a fishing trip to Alaska, Jim was commissioned to create a piece of aviation art about Alaska. This is the result: an evocative, nostalgic scene of a mother's farewell to her daughter, who is leaving their small island village for school. It is framed by interested on-lookers and local characters, while the big Stinson Gullwing awaits to transport her to the "big city" and her new school.
